The following are additional options, with more flexible criteria, for skilled people willing to live and work in areas outside of Australia's major cities.

Most of the categories below cover all of South Australia, Tasmania and the Northern Territory. The areas covered in New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland, Western Australia and the Australian Capital Territory differ between categories.

Employer and state/territory government sponsored migration

There are a range of visa options for skilled people to be nominated for migration by either an employer or a state or territory government.

Skill Matching Database

You can increase your chances of being offered a job in Australia by having your qualifications and employment history listed on the Skill Matching Database. The database is accessed by state and territory governments and employers who may then nominate an applicant for migration.
