Safeguards System

The Safeguards System is an information management system that is used as part of the visa decision-making process.

The system is designed to support decision makers in assessing applications, by ensuring that appropriate checks are undertaken.  It enables the decision maker to consider information, including local intelligence, before the visa application is decided.

The system is not used as the basis for deciding the visa.
